Qualifications:
Overall Purpose:
The Program Support Volunteer plays a key role in helping the library create a welcoming and engaging environment for community programs. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys interacting with people, supporting community events, and contributing to the smooth operation of library activities.
Schedule:
Volunteer opportunities will primarily occur during school breaks due to increased program activity. All interested applicants are welcome to apply. Upon acceptance, volunteers will receive a six-month schedule, with the opportunity to extend their service (minimum 15 volunteer hours per six-month term).
Preferred Location:
Burlington Public Library provides programs at six locations throughout the city. Please specify the location(s) where you would be able to volunteer:

Key Accountabilities:
- Warmly greet participants as they arrive and help create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere.
- Assist library staff with setting up program spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, and other furniture.
- Help prepare and organize program materials and supplies before events begin.
- Support staff with taking down, cleaning up, and returning furniture and materials to their proper locations after programs conclude.
- Communicate any questions, concerns, or notable interactions to library staff as needed.

- Volunteer hours will be completed in library spaces, while customers and library staff are present, with little exposure to noise, dirt, or external elements.
